Ingredients

  • ¾ cup / 180 ml water
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 black tea bag
  • 1 thin strip washed orange peel, with as little white pith as possible
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice, optional
  • 1–2 tsp honey or sugar, optional
  • 1 thin orange slice, to serve

Method

  1. Add the water, cinnamon stick and orange peel to a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Take the pan off the heat. Add the black tea bag and steep for 3 minutes, or follow your tea’s instructions.
  3. Remove the tea bag, cinnamon and peel. Pour into a heat-safe mug.
  4. Add the optional orange juice and sweetener to taste. Finish with an orange slice and enjoy warm.
